Port Management and Maritime Logistics

Container Shipping

Mid-level logistics and trade professionals

Container shipping plays an important role in the globalized and industrialized world. Goods, goods and raw materials can be transported from any point in the world to the desired destination. The loading of goods by sea provides an efficient means of transport in terms of transit time, shipped volume and costs incurred. With the freight booking alone, the container transport is not completed. Rather, in most cases, a detailed study of the project is needed in the planning phase in order to be able to consider, calculate and implement the individual requirements.

You will be charged with the process of organising a containerised maritime supply chain. The course addresses various sector-specific issues such as the trends towards ever larger container vessels and the impact on ports and feeder networks, digital information flows as well as the problem of empty container management.
